What resources do you use to teach your children about finances and money management? How do you teach your children about finances? Do your children get an allowance? Why have you made that choice? What is the best financial device you have ever received?
ANSWERS:
We don’t have any specific resources that we’ve used with the kids. We have gotten great tips from Focus on the Family broadcasts, friends, a money management class that we took, and of course, the Bible. We try to follow biblical principles of being stewardly, but at the same time very generous towards others. We do give our older two kids a small monthly allowance that they divide into three categories (tithe, long term savings (bank) and short term savings). We made this decision because we wanted them to learn from a young age how to manage money well.
